Maximize Your Indoor Arena Time This Winter
3 essential tips for better winter horse care & organization
Hello Equestrian Enthusiasts,
This is Martin from Equus Note journaling app & Equilingo translation app.
Every Thursday, I send 3 short journaling tips for horse owners who want to document their equestrian journey.
Let's dive in? 🐴
Indoor Arena Journal: Making The Most Of Winter Training
Winter arena time isn't just about staying warm.
It's about focused improvement. And it’s a golden opportunity for detailed training notes.
Focus on tracking:
Your warm-up routine effectiveness
Arena patterns that work best
Your horse's focus level in different spots
Exercises that keep you both engaged
Small space. Big learning opportunity.
Every ride counts!
Feed & Supplement Tracking During Cold Months
Cold weather affects appetites. Both yours and your horse's.
But winter feeding isn't just about amounts. It's about observation and adjustment.
Keep an eye on:
Water intake (especially important now)
Water temperature preferences
Hay waste vs consumption
Salt block usage (if any)
Supplement effectiveness
Small changes matter. Winter wellness depends on it.
Location Matters: Where Horse Info Lives
The best information is useless if nobody can find it. Especially when time matters most.
Your essential info needs three homes:
Main stall entrance (for daily care and emergencies)
Feed room reference (for feeding and medication)
Tack room overview (for training and special notes)
Make it visible.
Make it weatherproof.
Keep it updated.
Quick check: Can someone find your horse's info in under 10 seconds?
If not, it might be time to rethink your info placement.
That's it!
Thank you for reading my newsletter.
